Restaurant Havana, Walnut Creek

Here are some shots of a great restaurant in Walnut Creek called Havana. As you can guess, they serve Cuban food and great Mojitos. I love the decor especially when compared to the more typical restaurants in the area.

One great perk of shooting food and restaurants is that someone has to eat this stuff after it's shot, and I'm usually the first in line.

Vickiel Vaughn, San Francisco 49ers

Vickiel Vaugn, rookie safety for the 49ers, 2006
-----------------------------

Every so often I get a chance to shoot a sports related story which I love to do (despite not being much of a sports fan). Yesterday I spent the morning at the 49ers training camp in Santa Clara, California getting shots of some of the team for a story on rookie safety Vickiel Vaughn. I'm going to have to start watching games just to keep up on some of the folks I get to meet in this, the best job in the world.

San Francisco Giants

SF Giants, May 2006
--------------

With all the attention on Barry Bonds and his quest for home runs some of the other players seem to stay in the shadows. I just shot some pictures for a story on Mark Sweeney (he's the one in the baseball card-like shot) and what he has brought to the Giants clubhouse and field. Of course, while haniging around the game I had to get some shots of Barry and the other guys on the team.

Mexico

I just came back from a little vacation in Mexico near the border with Belize.  My wife, her brother (not pictured, sorry John), our neice and I (guess which one is of me) had a beautiful time in a beautiful place.  The shock of getting off my plane wearing flip flops and shorts in to the 55 degree rainy San Francisco night still hasn't worn off.

Sherlock's Hvaen

Sherlock's Haven & Owner Marty Pulver, 2006

I just got an asignment to shoot some photos of local, legendary pipe and cigar shop, Sherlock's Haven, which is closing it's doors.  Apparently the store's lease is up soon and the owner's of the building will only renew the lease if the shop agrees to not allow smoking inside.  Rather than accept this, they are closing up.  A sad day for some of us who enjoy the occasional cigar.
